Each agency has it’s own unique mission and they positively impact the live of our neighbors in many ways. United Way is a convener that encourages organizations and people to work together to tackle some of our community’s toughest education, prosperity, and health challenges, discovering locally-based solutions that work.

The Angel Fund
The Angel Fund helps Helena public school children in need with school clothes, winter outerwear, shoes, school supplies, classroom materials and field trip fees so they arrive at school ready to learn each fall. Angel Fund also awards Montana post-secondary scholarships to deserving seniors at Capital High, Helena High and Pupils in Alternative Learning based on financial need, academic success and a commitment to give back to their community.

Provides a baby pantry (diapers, formula, and wipes) as well as a mentoring program for youth in Helena and East Helena.

Promoting and supporting sustainable urban gardening projects to educate area youth about healthy local food and nutrition, composting and sustainable gardening.

Elkhorn Search and Rescue
Elkhorn Search and Rescue’s goal is to save lives. This is done through non-technical search and rescue, assisting qualified technical teams, and assisting the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office in the event of a disaster or an emergency.

God’s Love Shelter
God’s Love Shelter provides 24/7 emergency shelter for homeless individuals, offering three meals per day, counseling, showers, and laundry facilities.

Head Start provides a supportive and safe learning environment for low-income children and their families by enhancing their sense of belonging and self-worth while encouraging them to reach their highest potential.

Meals on Wheels assists area home-bound and elderly residents maintain their independence by providing hot, nutritious meals delivered to their homes.

Youth connections Coalitions works to make Helena a healthy and supportive place for kids and families. We focus on preventing and reducing substance abuse and violence, while enhancing social, emotional and mental health supports for Helena’s youth.

Youth Homes
Youth Homes was founded in 1971 to help youth that are troubled by abuse, neglect, illegal substance abuse, school failure, family conflict, family violence, and emotional/mental disturbance, and more. In Helena, Youth Homes operates the Margaret Stuart Boys and Girls Home as well as the Jan Shaw Home for Girls.

YWCA
The YWCA of Helena is to prevent homelessness, provide supportive transitional housing for homeless women and their children, and provide services that restore hope and self-sufficiency.
